Bookend — Support

Help with the Bookend app for macOS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android.

Bookend is a local-first workspace for structured documents and notes. If something isn't working, or you have a question or a feature request, we're happy to help.

We read every message and aim to reply within a few business days.

Before you write

A few things often resolve an issue quickly:

Make sure you're on the latest version of Bookend from the App Store.
Fully quit and reopen the app.
Your documents are stored on your device — keeping a backup of important .bookend files (for example in the Files app or iCloud Drive) is always a good idea.

Reporting a problem

So we can help as fast as possible, please include:

Your device and OS version (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18.1; or MacBook Air, macOS 15).
The Bookend version (shown in the app's About / settings).
What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
A screenshot, if it helps show the problem.

Please don't send sensitive personal information in a support email. We only need enough to reproduce and fix the issue.
